Introduction

Welcome to Herosphere, the most comprehensive HERO System simulator and utility available.

Herosphere has a number of functions, but its primary purpose is to simulate combat in the HERO System. In the Combat Module, virtually all the mechanics of HERO are processed automatically. The SPD Chart, Recoveries, OCV and DCV modifiers, multiple effects, Endurance expenditure, and hexagonal movement are just a few of Herosphere's features. The program also includes a robust Character Module, Map Module, and Options Module, all of which this manual describes.

Herosphere 1.0 supports...
- all HERO System Characteristics
- standard Combat and Martial Maneuvers
- Energy Blast
- Hand-To-Hand and Ranged Killing Attacks
- Damage Resistence
- Combat Skill Levels

Herosphere 1.2 supports...
- Hero Designer import

- more Martial Maneuvers
- Absorption
- Aid
- Drain
- Healing
- Suppress
- Transfer

- Power Defense
- Active Point Calculation

Herosphere allows you to simulate virtually every other power and effect with the GM Mode which lets you adjust a character's stats, position, and status at any time.

System Requirements
Windows
IBM-compatible PC
Intel Pentium II
233 MHz
Win95 or higher
64 MB RAM
12x CD-ROM
Windows compatible sound card
16-bit color monitor capable of
800x600 resolution

Note:
Herosphere was designed to give enormous creative control to its owners. Compared to a game/utility that imposes limits to ensure better performance, there's a greater chance for you to press the program's boundaries and cause problems like system lag. For example, a low profile computer might have a lag in it's its FPS (frames per second) if the game being simulated uses the maximum number of characters, with the highest number of polygon objects used in every hex of a map that has maximum size. For this reason, Herosphere offers FPS Control in both in the Options Module and as a keystroke in the Combat Module. (see the Combat Module section) With FPS control, you can adjust the speed to match your computer's performance.

Note:
This manual assumes you have a basic understanding of the HERO System and its terminology, or access to someone who does. For more information on the HERO System, visit www.Herogames.com.
